Legionella – Water Quality Testing

Legionnaires’ disease is a potentially fatal form of pneumonia caused by the legionella bacteria. It is contracted by inhaling the bacteria in aerosols (water droplets) from contaminated systems.

Legionella – water quality testing is carried out to ensure any water systems on an industrial or commercial site meet the health and safety requirements of L8 Approved Code Of Practice.

EHSC use microbiological TVC dip slides measuring total coliform for water tanks at industrial and commercial businesses.

Water samples are also taken from water tanks and are sent to a UKAS accredited laboratory.

Temperature testing is completed using K type thermocouple thermometers for all domestic outlets hot and cold taps.

Our consultants are IOSH Legionella Management for Responsible Persons qualified to complete Legionella sampling and risk assessments.
